GPS
The Lord God then said: I will look for my sheep and take care of them myself... ~ Ezekiel 34:11 (CEV)
When Jesus saw the crowds, he felt sorry for them. They were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. ~ Matthew 9:36 (CEV)
KEY THOUGHT:
The Lord Jesus sees how helpless we are and looks out for us.
PRAYER:
Lord, you know how easily I get lost, how quickly I'm turned around and in a panic. Thank you for your vigilant voice that calls out my name. When I look at your GPS -- your "Gospel Positioning System" -- I can find myself again. Grant me courage today to locate and love others back into your fold. Amen. *ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS
The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2011 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
