Jesus leads
Why did you disobey me and do such a horrible thing? ~ 2 Samuel 12:9a (CEV)
So we must get rid of everything that slows us down, especially the sin that just won’t let go. And we must be determined to run the race that is ahead of us. We must keep our eyes on Jesus, who leads us and makes our faith complete. ~ Hebrews 12:1-2a (CEV)

PRAYER:
Thank you, God, for sending your Son, Christ Jesus, to not only save us from sin but also to lead us in a new way of living. I confess that I often forget about the second part of what he came to do. I'm complacent knowing that my sins are forgiven. Jog me from such narrow thinking. I'm going to live life the way Jesus leads. Amem.

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2011 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.
