PRAYER:
Gracious God, what an honor it is that you've allowed me to run in your race. Forgive me for my lackadaisical approach to the competition. Coach and train me to put all that I am into completing the race. I'm going to run to win -- for the honor of the pacesetter, Christ Jesus. Amen.

In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.
