The Spirit
I will pour out a spirit of grace and mercy on David’s house

God's Spirit is assisting us in ways unimaginable and undeserved.
PRAYER Thank you, Holy Spitit, for staying beside us and helping us in ways we don't yet understand. Forgive me for stressing out and trying to go it alone. Intervene in my life. Interrupt my over-confidence in personal ability. I'm going to relax and trust you even though I'm a weakling. Amen.

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.
