Praise

Sun and moon, praise God!
All of you bright stars, praise God!
Let all of these praise the LORD’s name
     because God gave the command
     and they were created!
~ Psalm 148:3, 5 (CEB)

Worthy, O Master! Yes, our God!
Take the glory! the honor! the power!
You created it all;
It was created because you wanted it.

~ Revleation 4:11 (MSG)

SUMMARY SENTENCE
Give God all the credit, for he is a creator behind everything that exists.

PRAYER
You, O God, are worthy of all honor -- all of our attention. We confess that we let the anxieties of life and our own desire for attention to distract us from properly honoring you. Show me how to set all of that aside so that I can join with the rest of creation in praising you. You're the one who makes it all happen! Amen!

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
