ETERNAL LIFE
DANIEL 12:2 (CEV)
Many of those who lie dead in the ground will rise from death. Some of them will be given eternal life, and others will receive nothing but eternal shame and disgrace.

Sin pays off with death. But God’s gift is eternal life given by Jesus Christ our Lord.

PRAYER
Thank you, forgiving Lord, that you give the free gift of eternal life even when I am asleep in the dirt of shameful failures. I am stuck in the mud and spiritually dead; gather me up, dust me off, and wash away my sin. I thank you for your life-giving-forgiveness. Help me forgive as I have been forgiven. Amen. The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
