GOD'S GRACIOUSNESS

MICAH 7:18 (ERV)
There is no God like you.
You take away people’s guilt.
God will forgive his people who survive.
He will not stay angry with them forever,
because he enjoys being kind.

ROMANS 8:32 (MSG)
If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us?

SUMMARY SENTENCE
God enjoys being kind to us.

PRAYER
Gracious God, thank you for the way that you entered human history as the human who came to give up his life so that all might experience your mercy. Thank you for his victory over death and the doorway to eternal life that the victory opened. Help me to let go of my guilt and to fully embrace your kindness. I'm going to celebrate your graciousness. Amen.

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
