THE LORD IS WITH YOU

The Second Sunday in Lent

ISAIAH 43:5 (CEV)
Don’t be afraid! I am with you.
From both east and west
I will bring you together.

2 CORINTHIANS 4:8-9 (CEB)
We are experiencing all kinds of trouble, but we aren’t crushed. We are confused, but we aren’t depressed. We are harassed, but we aren’t abandoned. We are knocked down, but we aren’t knocked out.

SUMMARY SENTENCE
The Lord is with you.

PRAYER
Lord, even when my world is falling apart you're there for me. But I confess that I let anxiety take over -- even when it is not warranted. I have a very active imagination. Rescue me from my depression. Even though I'm having trouble seeing it, I'm going to trust that you'll get me through it. Amen.

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2011 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
