GOD'S KINDNESS
The Third Sunday in Eastertide
2 SAMUEL 7:18 (CEB)
Who am I, LORD God, and of what significance is my family that you have brought me this far?
1 CORINTHIANS 15:10 (CEV)
But God was kind! He made me what I am, and his wonderful kindness wasn’t wasted.
SUMMARY SENTENCE
Everything we have and everything we are points to God's kindness.
PRAYER
Lord God, I'm nothing, yet you have given me everything. Forgive me for being slow to acknowledge your overwhelming kindness. Stir within me a passion to extend the grace-received to everyone with whom I come in contact. I'm going to celebrate and represent your kindness to the world. Amen.
*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS
The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
