Jesus Christ offered himself as a sacrifice to free us from a dark, rebellious life into this good, pure life, making us a people he can be proud of, energetic in goodness.
SUMMARY SENTENCE
Even though we've really messed up, God sent his Son to turn things around for us.
PRAYER
Patient God, you don't leave us to suffer the natural consequences of sin. You have intervened on our behalf -- sacrificing your Son Jesus to free us from the grip of darkness. Yet, I confess that more days than not, I drift back toward the dark side. I'm not totally comfortable there but I still dabble in places best left alone. Guide me back. Restore in me an eagerness to live according to the way of Jesus. I want to make you proud. Amen.
