LIGHT

ISAIAH 60:20 (NLT)
Your sun will never set;
     your moon will not go down.
For the LORD will be your everlasting light.

JOHN 12:46 (NLT)
I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark.

SUMMARY SENTENCE
Live in the light which God has established through Christ Jesus.

PRAYER
Gracious God, I'm so thankful for the light that you have brought into my life. The world has chosen to live in darkness -- demonizing those with whom they disagree, using power to force their agendas on those with less, fighting to prove they are right... The list goes on and on. And sometimes I even get sucked into their way of thinking and living. Forgive me and restore the brightness of your light in my life so that I might walk unafraid of the darkness. Amen.

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
