SAVIOR & PROTECTOR

PSALM 17:7 (CEV)
Show your wonderful love.
Your mighty arm protects those
who run to you
for safety
from their enemies.

1 THESSALONIANS 5:23 (CEB)
Now, may the God of peace himself cause you to be completely dedicated to him; and may your spirit, soul, and body be kept intact and blameless at our Lord Jesus Christ’s coming.

God is our saving protector.

PRAYER
Saving Lord, criminals were crucified with you in places of honor, on your right and left hands. You are not like me. You overcome your enemies by changing them into your friends. The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2011 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
