WITH US

ZEPHANIAH 3:16-17 (CEV)
Don’t be discouraged
or grow weak from fear!
The LORD your God
wins victory after victory
and is always with you.

JOHN 21:3-4 (ABP)
Jesus' apprentices went out in their boat to fish. But their nets came up empty all night long. As the sun rose they could see Jesus standing on the shore, although they didn't realize who he was.

SUMMARY SENTENCE
Even when we can't see him God is standing with us.

PRAYER
God of glorious sunrises, I thank you for standing watch over me throughout the night. Sometimes I let the darkness confuse me into believing that I'm alone. Show me your saving presence in the moments when I most need to see it. I'm not going to let the darkness get to me. Amen.

DAILYTEXTS.ORG

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2011 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
