SOLIDARITY

ISAIAH 53:11 (CEV)
Out of that terrible travail of soul,
he’ll see that it’s worth it and be glad he did it.

COLOSSIANS 2:10 (NLT)
So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.

SUMMARY SENTENCE
Through our union with Christ we share in his victory.

PRAYER
Victorious Savior, you are in charge. I admit, though, that I have doubts each time some of the crazies of the world act out and cause so much pain and suffering for people. Help me to find strength through my solidarity with you. I'm going to trust that yours will ultimately be the final word. Amen.

THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your Name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
