The Second Sunday in Lent

PSALM 33:16 (CEB)
Kings aren’t saved by the strength of their armies;
warriors aren’t rescued by how much power they have.

This is once again the Great Reversal: Many who are first will end up last, and the last first.

SUMMARY SENTENCE
Under God's economy life as we know it is flipped upside down as the way that power flows is reversed.

PRAYER
Great Deliverer, you are the King of all kings. You alone can save me from my sin. You alone can fight my battles. Though I may feel lost, lonely and last, by your proclamation you make the last first. Praise and thanks to you! I rest in your greatness and strength that can accomplish anything for me. Amen. THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your Name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.
