GRACIOUS

GENESIS 49:25 (ABP)
Might God help you -- the Almighty One rain down blessings from heaven on you.

1 JOHN 3:19-20 (NLT)
Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God. Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything.

SUMMARY SENTENCE 
It's good news that God the merciful and generous one is looking for ways to bless us.

PRAYER 
Powerful God, I'm grateful for your graciousness. I don't deserve your kind forgiveness because I continue to fall short in the love department. Help me to fully accept your grace so that in spite of everything to the contrary it will be clear that Christ has left his mark on me. Amen.

THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your Name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
