The Seventh Sunday in Eastertide
1 KINGS 8:27 (MSG)
Can it be that God will actually move into our neighborhood? Why, the cosmos itself isn’t large enough to give you breathing room, let alone this Temple I’ve built.
1 JOHN 4:12 (ABP)
Of course, no one has ever seen God. But as we love each other it becomes clear that he has come to live within us. And this isn't just a knock-off version of his love but the real thing -- perfect and complete.
SUMMARY SENTENCE
Our loving God is really close.
PRAYER
Big God, nothing can contain you -- yet you take up residence within us, with your love bursting our seams to ooze onto everyone and everything around us. Forgive me for the ways that I try to overexplain this mystery -- as though I've somehow got a handle on it all. Help me to relax and bask in your loving presence. I want you to flow in, through, and out of me. Amen.
THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your Name; your Kingdom come; your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.
