ACTION

Second Sunday after Epiphany

PROVERBS 21:3 (ABP)
The way you live your life and the justice you show to your neighbors is way more important to GOD than your religious activity.

JAMES 2:26 (CEV)
Anyone who doesn't breathe is dead, and faith that doesn't do anything is just as dead!

SUMMARY SENTENCE
Living faith is actively lived out in the way that it treats others.

PRAYER
God, you have breathed the breath of life into me. I'm grateful to be alive and to call you my God. I admit, though, that I don't always let your life flow completely through me so that it impacts the way that I treat others. I can be rather indifferent to the needs of the people within my sphere of influence. Help me fix that so that I can translate my faith into practical action -- an action that goes beyond expressing opinions online. I'm going to tap into the breath of your residing Holy Spirit to breathe new life into my relationships. Amen.

THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your Name, your Kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.
