REDIRECTION

1 SAMUEL 9:27 (CEB)
"...stop for a bit so I can tell you God’s word."

MARK 1:17 (NTFE)
“Follow me!” said Jesus to them. “I’ll have you fishing for people!”

THE ESSENCE
When we follow Jesus we end up stopping what we're doing so we can do what he says.

DAILY FODDER
When Jesus called Simon and Andrew to give up their fishing business to follow him, he was offering to teach them something new. What exactly did Jesus mean, "I'll have you fishing for people"? What good things have you had to set aside to follow Jesus?

PRAYER
Thank you, Lord, for redirecting our lives so we can live in service to you. I admit that sometimes your guiding voice is hard to hear because of all the ambition and activity in my life. Train me to stop long enough to listen to your leading. With your help I'm going to set aside all my personal goals so I can hear and embrace yours. Amen.

THE LORD’S PRAYER (ABP)
Our Father in Heaven,
we hold your name in the highest regard.
Please come and establish your reign here on earth
so that everything that happens here will align
with what is happening in heaven.
Give us enough food for today.
Forgive us our wrongdoing,
and we’ll forgive those who have wronged us.
Shield us from the trials and temptations that come our way.
Lastly, we pray that you will protect us from all forms of evil.
Amen.
