PROTECTION

PSALM 34:7 (ABP)
The Lord assigns a protective angel to watch over those who live to honor him. The body guard will beat back all attackers.

Thank you, God, for watching over us and assigning your best agents to our protective detail. Forgive me for worrying over the details of my situation, as though you had anandoned me. God, you are well aware of just how sick we are -- the physical, spiritual, and emotional brokenness that characterizes our lives. And you've done something about it by sending Jesus into the world to be our physician. Forgive me for ignoring your medical advice and choosing to embrace old wives' tales which require less of me. Heal my judgment so that I can be restored and share in your mission of healing the world. I am going to join you in hurting with those who hurt. Amen.

PRAYER
God, thank you for your kind and encouraging words. I admit that I'm not always eager to receive them because you’re using them to make painful but needed changes. Use your message to capture my imagination so that the words which flow from my mouth are always consistent with your agenda. I'm going to let you stand watch over my mouth. Amen.

PRAYER
God, you patiently persevere through the suffering that we direct your way. Then, in your love you overcome and carry us through our difficulties. Forgive me for losing perspective and whining my way through the hard times. Help me to patiently endure troubles and hardships and calamities of every kind. I'm going to trust that you are carrying me through the chaos and pain. Amen.
