God listens

You people who live in Jerusalem on Mount Zion will not continue crying. The Lord will hear your crying, and he will comfort you. When he hears you, he will help you. ~ Isaiah 30:19 (ERV)

The angel said to Cornelius, “God has heard your prayers and has seen your gifts to the poor. He remembers you and all you have done. ~ Acts 10:4 (ERV)

You, Lord, are the God who hears and helps. I regret that sometimes -- too many times -- I try to fix things without asking for your help. It makes me feel like I am important. But maybe that is a part of my problem. I am trying too hard. I pray that you would speak to me today -- that you would reassure me of my significance in your family. I pray, too, that you would help me with the hard problem that has been troubling me. Today I am going to trust you -- and only you -- for the solution. I know that you are the God who hears and helps. Amen.
