Doors

Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors! that the King of glory may come in. ~ Psalm 24:7 (ERV)

Be like servants who are waiting for their master to come home from a wedding party. The master comes and knocks, and the servants immediately open the door for him. ~ Luke 12:36 (ERV)

Lord, I want to be an open door. Walk right on into my life and take charge. Assert your authority -- throw a party -- rearrange the furniture -- whatever you want to do. I've not always been so welcoming. I'm sorry for my lack of openness to you. But this is what I want for now -- and for the future. I'm eager to see what you're going to do with me -- even today. This is exciting! Amen.

Difficult Words
  • Rearrange -- to move things around. To rearrange the furniture is to move the pieces of furniture to different places in the house.
  • Eager -- enthusiastic, wanting to do something very much, can't wait, impatient, very ready
