Healing word

As soon as the LORD spoke the world was created; at his command, the earth was formed. ~ Psalm 33:9 (CEV)

The centurion answered (Jesus), "…Just say the word and my servant will be healed."
~ Matthew 8:8b (CEB)

LORD, you are the being of ultimate authority. What you say happens just because you say it. I confess that I am too casual about your word. Sometimes I even listen to other voices instead of yours. Help me to respect what you say by trusting you so much that I act according to your word. That is my only hope, anyway. By your word you created the world and by your word you heal the world and everything in it. I'm going to be a part of your healing project by listening carefully to your word today. Amen.

Difficult Word
Ultimate -- the end, the greatest, beyond imagination, something or someone that cannot be improved upon

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
