Perspective

For you, a thousand years are as a passing day, as brief as a few night hours. ~ Psalm 90:4 (NLT)

(Christ says,) “I’m the first and the last, and the living one. I was dead, but look! Now I’m alive forever and always. I have the keys of Death and the Grave.” ~ Revelation 1:17b–18 (CEB)
Risen Lord, we are so limited. I'm racing death to squeeze in a life. I constantly feel like time is running out -- that you've put me here for this very special limited time and that if I don't get everything right, history will will not work out right. I'm afraid that going to ruin the world! For you, though, in your grand perspective, time is not so weighty and death is already obsolete. Help me to overcome my limited and sin-tainted outlook. Help me to see things from your Easter perspective and so to become more like you. Amen.
Challenging Words:
  • grand perspective -- being in a position where you can see a lot, the bigger picture
  • weighty -- influential, important, cumbersome, a difficult care that one is carrying
  • obsolete -- no longer functioning, old and no longer of full use, not having the power or value that it once had
