Wisdom
Surely you know.
Surely you have heard.
The Lord is the God who lives forever,
who created all the world.
He does not become tired or need to rest.
No one can understand how great his wisdom is. ~ Isaiah 40:28 (NCV)
And now, because of Jesus Christ, we can praise the only wise God forever! Amen. ~ Romans 16:27 (CEV)
Wise God, you deserve to receive praise from everyone. There is no other being like you. You are so great that you own every little bit of true wisdom that exists. And your wisdom is most clearly seen through Jesus Christ. If we look at all things through his eyes, we will get to share in some of that wisdom. Forgive me when I lack interest in wisdom or look for wisdom from sources other than Jesus. I know that if you can keep me focused on Jesus, my understanding of all things will grow deeper. Please increase my wisdom in this way. Amen.

DAILY TEXTS
The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
