The message

I have made everything; that’s how it all came to be. I, the Lord, have spoken. The people I treasure most are the humble— they depend only on me and tremble when I speak. ~ Isaiah 66:2 (CEV)

(Paul said) "I now place you in God’s care. Remember the message about his great kindness! This message can help you..." ~ Acts 20:32a (CEV)
Lord, you have been, and continue to be, kind to us. And I'm doing my best to humbly receive your message to the world. I want my life to be shaped by the Jesus message. But there are a lot of competing messages out there, and sometimes my attention drifts in the wrong direction. Help me to stay focused so that I am depending on you -- and you alone. The thing I most need in life is the message of your great kindness. Nothing refreshes me like this message. Amen.

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
