More than satisfied

"And my people will be filled with the good things I give them," announces the Lord. ~ Jeremiah 31:14 (NIRV)

And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. ~ 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NLT)
Lord, thank you for your generosity. You have given me everything essential. I am not lacking anything critical. As a matter of fact, you've given me more than I need so that I can share with others. Sometimes, though, I get so caught up in my desire for more that I don't fully realize that I have more than enough. And when I start to think of myself as lacking in something (even though I'm not really lacking -- just thinking that I am) it gets hard to be generous. You've already filled me with your Holy Spirit. I am giving him permission to do whatever is necessary to change me so that I'm more than satisfied. Amen.

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
