Faith

I am the one who cut a path through the mighty ocean. ~ Isaiah 43:16 (CEV)

Don’t be afraid; just keep trusting. ~ Mark 5:36 (CEB)
Mighty God,
THANKS: I'm grateful for the way that you make trails for us. It seems like we're surrounded by terrible and dangerous circumstances. But you push back the ocean. You cut through the jungles.
REGRET: Even though you have a proven record of helping us, sometimes I start to doubt. Mostly it's because I have a predetermined outcome in mind. I want things to go a certain way and I'm worried that you might have something else in mind for me. Your pathway might turn in a direction I'd rather not go.
INTERCESSION: Help me to trust you for the outcomes. Even the very act of asking this calms me down so that I can trust you more.
PURPOSE: I'm re-energized and eager to walk down the new pathways that you have created. Lord, let's move forward together.
Amen.

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
