Peace!

Good Friday

I will sing of the Lord’s the Lord’s unfailing love forever! Young and old will hear of your faithfulness. ~ Psalm 89:1 (NLT)

...God was in Christ, offering peace and forgiveness to the people of this world. And he has given us the work of sharing his message about peace. ~ 2 Corinthians 5:19 (CEV)
Loving Lord, this is such a glorious message for such a dark day. Thank you for being faithful to your promises -- even to the point where Christ died to keep them. Through his sacrifice he created peace -- bringing us back together with you. I'm sorry not just for my sins, but for my failure to live out the peace. Sometimes even my words are violent and harsh. But I'm asking that you would forgive me and set me back on track so that I can share this message of peace with everyone I know. This is a message really worth sharing. Amen.

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
