God present

God will command his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will carry you in their arms, and you won’t hurt your feet on the stones. ~ Psalm 91:11-12 (CEV)

But the Lord stood beside me. He gave me the strength... ~ 2 Timothy 4:17 (CEV)
Lord, sometimes people tell me that they are not interested in you because they "don't need a crutch." Well, I do need a crutch -- someone to hold me up and help me out even when I am stumbling along the way. Thank you for being there for me. When I forget how much I need a crutch remind me by showing me again how you are already propping me up. Please continue to carry me along. The path is rough and it is easy to trip and fall. But I'm going to move forward knowing that you are there with me all the way. Amen.

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
