Close
Seek God while he’s here to be found,

I listened to you,
and when you needed help,
I came to save you.”
That time has come. This is the day for you to be saved. ~ 2 Corinthians 6:2 (CEV)
God, thank you for coming, staying close, and listening. Thank you for saving us. I admit that I resist your intervention. It's not because I don't like you. But I really like the idea that I can make things work on my own. Save me from such silly ideas. I am praying to you because I know that you are close. Amen.

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
