God,
THANKS: Thank you for being reliable and trustworthy. I know that what you say will happen.
REGRETS: I have wasted too much time and energy trying to fix the broken world by sharing my opinions. I get angry at politicians and stupid people who support them. I despair when I see the lack of progress on the part of the people whom we trust to lead us.
INTERCESSION: Calm me down. Help me to lean on you and turn my sail to catch your wind. I want to think clearly and so I need to be freed from worrying over the morons of the world.
PURPOSE: You are in charge. You are in control. All creation ultimately answers to you. And I'm going to approach life with that attitude.

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
