Jesus Christ is Lord!
Each generation will announce
to the next
your wonderful
and powerful deeds. ~ Psalm 145:4 (CEV)
And to the glory
of God the Father
everyone will openly agree,
“Jesus Christ is Lord!” ~ Philippians 2:11 (CEV)
Glorious God, you alone are worthy of all praise and honor. Thank you for allowing me to see at least a little of who you are, what you do, and what you are about. It is a privilege to be trusted with such insight. But I am not so trustworthy. My own praise is shallow and my witness is sporadic. I am inconsistent. The wonder of it all, though, is that you entrust your story with such untrustworthy people such as myself. Help me to grow in constancy. I'm going to live my life now anticipating the time when everyone will join in the affirmation of faith declaring that "Jesus Christ is Lord!" Amen.
*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS
The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
