UNYIELDING

DANIEL 3:17-18 (CEV)
The God we worship can save us from you and your flaming furnace. But even if he doesn’t, we still won’t worship your gods and the gold statue you have set up.

ACTS 4:20 (CEB)
As for us, we can’t stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.

SUMMARY SENTENCE
The spiritually mature are unyielding in their faithfulness to God and his calling.

PRAYER
Gracious God, you're totally faithful to yourself and your promises. We can count on you but I confess that you can't always count on me. Forgive me for buckling under pressure. Give me a backbone so that I am unyielding in the things which matter. I'm going to stand resolute in my commitment to you and your calling. Amen.

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
