LOVE IS BORN

God wants us to have faith in his Son Jesus Christ and to love each other. This is also what Jesus taught us to do.

SUMMARY SENTENCE
Put your faith in Christ Jesus by following his instructions about loving one another.

PRAYER
Love is born -- love as innocent as the coos of a baby, as perfect as this child born of Mary, yet ever alive as your perfect Word. You wonderfully claim us, Father. You claim us as your own. When we feel unloved or alone, remind us that your perfect Son has given everything for us, and we are yours forever. Amen. (Daily Texts, Ground Up Grace edition)

THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your Name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
