TRUSTING FOR MIRACLES
PSALM 109:21 (MSG)
Oh, GOD, my Lord, step in;
work a miracle for me—you can do it!
Get me out of here—your love is so great!

As Stephen was being stoned to death, he called out, “Lord Jesus, please welcome me!” He knelt down and shouted, “Lord, don’t blame them for what they have done.”
SUMMARY SENTENCE
Sometimes God's miracles are more obvious than others.
PRAYER
Lord God, you are always loving and gracious. I admit that I worry about what is going to happen to me. Give me the boldness and freedom of Stephen. I want to be the kind of witness who will stick with Jesus no matter what. I'm going to trust you for miracles in the coming year. Amen.
THE LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your Name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
