GOD'S TEAM

If we're on the same side as God, who stands a chance against us?

SUMMARY SENTENCE
When we're on God's team no one stands a chance against us.

DAILY FODDER
In light of the fact that you're playing on God's team you should be confident and brave. Why, then, is it that you hesitate to give the effort 110%? What would it take to coach the hesitancy out of you?

PRAYER
God, you trust us so much that you invite us to play on your team. Yet, I don't play up to my ability because I worry that I might fail you. Embolden me to wisely go into life with Spirit-charged confidence. I want to be a brave player on Christ's team. Amen.

THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your Name, your Kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.
