Healing

… I will bring health and healing to the people there. I will heal them and let them enjoy great peace and safety. ~ Jeremiah 33:6 (NCV)

Jesus went all over Galilee, teaching in the Jewish meeting places and preaching the good news about God’s kingdom. He also healed every kind of disease and sickness. ~ Matthew 4:23 (CEV)
Dear Savior, there is a lot of brokenness and disease in this world. I'm sure glad to you are working on healing everyone. For it will only be through the peace of your presence -- your kingdom -- that we'll ever know what safety and health are. The very thought of such a situation stirs my emotions. And it makes me sad that sometimes I contribute to the poor health of myself and others. Thank you for the sacrifice of the cross and the resurrection -- which confronted the disease and overcame it. There is now an antidote. I want to join you on your mission to bring lasting health to the world. Amen.

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
