The Lord God is my strength. ~ Habakkuk 3:19 (CEB)
So we aren’t depressed. But even if our bodies are breaking down on the outside, the person that we are on the inside is being renewed every day. ~ 2 Corinthians 4:16 (CEB)
Lord God, there is much in life that points out my weaknesses. My body does not work as well as it could. People take advantage of me. I have trouble thinking clearly. Of course, some of my problems are the result of not managing my life well. I eat and drink things I shouldn't allow into my body. I do things to impress people that I want to like me. And I fill my mind with clutter. All of this makes me feel hopeless and depressed -- until I turn to you as my source of strength. You are renewing me every day and are causing me to rethink some of the things I do. Then you give me the strength to act in the right way. That's because you, Lord God, are a bank full of strength. And you give it away to all who will receive it. I'm feeling stronger just thinking about your generosity. Thank you. No matter what happens today I'm going to draw on the strength you give. And I expect to continue to do so in all the days to come. Amen.
