Lord over all nations and people, you have shown your power to everyone. You do not want anyone to be excluded. I admit that my thinking is narrow compared to yours. I'm mostly interested in people who are like me -- people from my tribe -- my family -- my country. But you refuse to limit yourself. You even show your light to people who are not interested in you. That's how I became interested. When I heard your story and recognized your loving heart, I wanted to be a part of what you are doing. Open my eyes so that I can see how much you love the individuals and groups who are not like me. Help me to share the light of Jesus with everyone today. Amen.

DAILY TEXTS
The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul. The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
