Praising

Let’s come before him with thanks! Let’s shout songs of joy to him! The Lord is a great God, the great king over all other gods. ~ Psalm 95:2–3a (CEB)

God is the greatest King of all. He is the most powerful Lord of all. God is the only one who can’t die. He lives in light that no one can get close to. No one has seen him. No one can see him. Honor and power belong to him forever. Amen. ~ 1 Timothy 6:15b–16 (NIRV)
You are the King of all Glory! You have no peers. No one and nothing is like you. You go on forever. And I take comfort in your position and character. I'm fickle. I'm always changing my mind and failing to live faithfully. But you... You are so faithful. Honor and power belong to you forever -- including today. I'm going to look for ways today to shout songs of joy to you. You deserve it -- each and every word of praise. Amen.

*ABOUT THE
DAILY TEXTS

The Daily Texts have been published by the Moravian Church since 1731. In 2015 I started posting these Bible verses for my spiritual formation students at Pacific Islands University. In the process of responding to the verses, I found the rhythm of looking for a common thread and writing a prayer based on that key idea to be helpful for my own soul.

The prayers are more or less modeled on the TRIP method, which is what I ask my students to do in their journaling. ~ Brad Boydston
