Straight talk
Do not be afraid of people’s scorn,
nor fear their insults. ~ Isaiah 51:7b (NLT)
You are in for trouble when everyone says good things about you. ~ Luke 6:26a (CEV)
Lord, one of the things I really appreciate about you is that when you say something you are a straight talker. You don't just tell people what they want to hear. I confess that I sometimes pay too much attention to what people say about me. I feel like I need their approval. In reality, though, I only need your approval and I'm staking my life on that. Help me to keep the chatter out there in perspective. Grant me wisdom. Amen.
